So last night I had a raring adventure out on the town. With my mom.
Let's start over so I don't seem so pathetic.. Wait, then I would be lying. Ok, so I gave blood for my second time in the morning, and got a free wrist band. It's red and has the word blood on it and I will treasure and wear it always. Then I went home and slept like a lump of pasty-white and used linen for four hours or so while my parent went to work (because the 42 hours she puts in during the normal five days isn't masochistic enough)and I finished paintings that are colourful and big. THEN. We ate chinese food (lettuce wraps, at this really good restaurant and they were yummy..) and went to Square One and watched Batman Begins on IMAX. So I had ringing in my ears for a while, but it was all worth it because while we were waiting we saw two nefarious teenaged vandals steal a 12 foot tall Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie poster.
Ottawa was good because
Also Caitlin is awesome, she admired the War Museum's art gallery with me and brought me up to date on life in Ottawa and I wish I went down for more than a weekend.
My cousin is planning to elope in March in the Dominican Republic, and she bought a beautiful dress here this week. HEY, my cat likes tofu hot dogs. I think that's the coolest thing in the world, my carnivorous felis domesticus is more gastronomically open-minded to meat alternatives than most humans.
and...... volunteering is still ok. I almost got an orthopaedic patient's newly surgerized leg caught in the elevator door, his frantic wife couldn't push the closing doors back fast enough and I was all for cutting the losses and picking a different one. But some power-tripping nurse decided to lower his leg and yeah. Everything was ok and would make for a wonderful plot addition in a Scrubs episode. Speaking of Scrubs, I still have a bunch of downloaded episodes to watch. But that must come after Harry Potter.
